Day 1 | Arrival in Belize
Arrival at Belize City International Airport followed by a private transfer to San Ignacio. The scenic drive reveals Belize’s changing landscapes, from coastal plains to the lush hills and rainforest of the Cayo District, providing a relaxed introduction to the country’s remarkable natural diversity.
Day 2 | Caracol – Mayan Archaeological Site
Rio Frio Cave • Rio On Pools
Hidden within the vast Chiquibul Forest Reserve, Caracol once rivalled Tikal as one of the Maya world’s greatest cities. Monumental plazas, carved stelae and the towering Caana pyramid illustrate its former importance before visiting Rio Frio Cave and Rio On Pools, where vast limestone chambers, granite formations and cascading freshwater complete the day.
Day 3 | Xunantunich, Cahal Pech Maya Archeological Sites Butterfly & Hummingbird Farm
Two remarkable Maya sites reveal different chapters of Belize’s ancient history. Reached by Belize’s last hand-cranked ferry, Xunantunich overlooks the Mopan River Valley, while Cahal Pech offers insight into royal residences and ceremonial life. The afternoon continues among butterflies, hummingbirds and tropical gardens, highlighting Belize’s remarkable biodiversity.
Day 4 | Transfer to Toledo & Maya Living Experience
Travelling south into the Toledo District reveals one of Belize’s most authentic regions. A community-led Maya Living Experience introduces daily life, traditions and cultural heritage while supporting sustainable tourism. A hike through the rainforest to Tiger Cave adds gentle adventure, impressive limestone formations and pristine rainforest scenery.
Day 5 | Hokeb Ha Cave & Rio Blanco National Park
Hidden beneath the rainforest canopy, Hokeb Ha Cave combines crystal-clear waters, limestone formations and Maya history. Guided exploration provides a close-up experience of this remarkable cave system before continuing to Rio Blanco National Park for a light hike, waterfalls and a refreshing swim.
Day 6 | Spice Farm & Botanical Garden and
Lubaantun Archeological Site
The Belize Spice Farm & Botanical Gardens showcases cacao, vanilla, cinnamon, black pepper, medicinal plants and tropical herbs, reflecting the rich agricultural traditions of southern Belize. The journey continues to Lubaantun, renowned for its distinctive dry-stone construction and importance within Belize’s archaeological landscape.
Day 7 | Transfer to Belize City & Departure
Morning transfer, with time to reflect on a week of rainforest landscapes, ancient Maya cities, cave systems, waterfalls, and cultural encounters across Belize’s most meaningful regions.
Day 1 | Arrival in Belize
Arrival at Belize City Airport and private road transfer to San Ignacio in the Cayo District. Accommodation at Table Rock Jungle Lodge, an eco-friendly retreat set along the Macal River surrounded by tropical rainforest. Time to settle in and enjoy the natural environment after arrival.
Day 2 | Caracol – Mayan Archaeological Site
Full-day guided excursion deep into the Caracol, Belize’s largest and most significant Maya city. The journey through the Chiquibul Forest Reserve passes dense jungle, limestone landscapes, and remote wildlife habitats. On site, exploration includes vast plazas, palace structures, carved stelae, and the impressive Caana pyramid, the tallest structure in Belize. Return to San Ignacio in the afternoon for relaxation at the lodge.
Day 3 | Xunantunich, Cahal Pech Maya Archeological Sites Butterfly & Hummingbird Farm
Morning visits to Xunantunich and Cahal Pech (the oldest site in Belize), two key Maya in the Cayo District. Xunantunich offers elevated views above the Mopan River and surrounding valley, while Cahal Pech provides a more intimate archaeological experience close to San Ignacio. In the afternoon, visit a Butterfly & Hummingbird Farm with tropical gardens and educational insight into Belize’s biodiversity.
Day 4 | Transfer to Toledo & Maya Living Experience
Scenic transfer from the Cayo District to the Toledo District, entering Belize’s most traditional Maya region. En route, a Maya Living Experience provides insight into contemporary Maya culture, daily life, and traditions. Continue to Uxbenka, an early ceremonial site surrounded by forested hills. Overnight at a rainforest lodge.
Day 5 | The Rainforest of the Rio Blanco National Park & Cave Exploration
Rainforest experience in the diverse ecosystems of southern Toledo District, centered around Tiger Cave. The day begins at Rio Blanco National Park, known for its river, waterfalls, and rich flora and fauna. Continue with a guided approach through dense jungle trails and limestone terrain to Tiger Cave, where natural chambers and archaeological traces reflect its historical use within Maya ritual practices.
Day 6 | Toledo – Nature & Local Culture
Day at leisure in the Toledo District. Time to enjoy the river setting at the lodge or explore optional activities including guided rainforest walks, visits to cacao farms, and cultural experiences. The district also offers access to the Caribbean coast, with opportunities for marine activities along this diverse region. Known for its strong Maya heritage and exceptional biodiversity, Toledo provides an authentic and grounded perspective on life in southern Belize.
Day 7 | Transfer to Belize City & Departure
Morning transfer, with time to reflect on a week of rainforest landscapes, ancient Maya cities, cave systems, waterfalls, and cultural encounters across Belize’s most meaningful regions.
