Day 1 | Arrival & Rainforest Retreat

Arrival at Belize City International Airport followed by the journey into the Cayo District. Coastal plains gradually give way to rolling hills, rivers and tropical rainforest as western Belize unfolds. The surrounding landscape, rich in birdlife and native vegetation, offers an immediate introduction to one of the country’s most biodiverse regions.

Day 2 | Nature & River Experience

The rainforest provides the setting for a day of gentle exploration and quiet observation. Riverside walks, forest trails and optional canoeing reveal colourful birds, towering trees and the tranquil rhythm of the Macal River. The emphasis remains on reconnecting with nature while appreciating the remarkable biodiversity of western Belize.

Day 3 | Maya Heritage – Cahal Pech & Xunantunich

Two remarkable Maya centres reveal different chapters of Belize’s ancient history. Cahal Pech offers insight into one of the country’s earliest royal settlements, while Xunantunich, reached by Belize’s last hand-cranked ferry, features the impressive El Castillo pyramid overlooking the Mopan River Valley and surrounding rainforest.

Day 4 | Transfer to Caye Caulker

Travelling east to the Caribbean coast, the journey continues by boat or domestic flight to Caye Caulker, a small island where life follows an unhurried Caribbean rhythm. Sandy streets, turquoise waters and colourful wooden buildings create a striking contrast to the rainforest landscapes of western Belize.

Day 5 | Hol Chan Marine Reserve

An excursion to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, one of Belize’s oldest and most celebrated protected marine areas offers snorkeling among live coral formations reveals the magical world under the surface while highlighting the exceptional biodiversity of Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 6 | Island Leisure Day

A day at leisure allows time to experience Caye Caulker beyond its beaches. Swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding and coastal walks reveal the island’s seagrass beds, mangrove ecosystems and clear Caribbean waters, while the relaxed pace highlights one of Belize’s most distinctive island communities.

Day 7 | Departure

A scenic flight Tropic Air from Caye Caulker returns to Belize City, offering aerial views of the Barrier Reef, offshore cayes and the Caribbean coastline. Final views of Belize’s remarkable marine landscapes and savannahs provide a fitting conclusion to a journey through rainforest, Maya heritage and island life.

Day 1 | Arrival & Rainforest Retreat in Cayo

Arrival at Belize City International Airport followed by a comfortable road transfer along well-maintained highways into the Cayo District. The landscape gradually shifts from coastal plains into rolling hills, farmland, and dense tropical forest. Day 2 | Gentle Nature & River Time

A relaxed day focused on the natural surroundings of the lodge area, with soft activities such as riverside walks, short jungle trails, and time along the Macal River. The experience emphasizes quiet observation—listening to bird calls, watching tropical vegetation shift with light and weather, and enjoying the rhythm of the rainforest. Day 3 | Maya Heritage – Cahal Pech & Xunantunich

A cultural exploration of two important Maya sites in western Belize. Cahal Pech is one of the oldest known Maya settlements in the country, offering a compact complex of plazas and temples overlooking San Ignacio and providing insight into early Maya daily and ceremonial life. The journey continues to Xunantunich, one of Belize’s most iconic archaeological sites, known for El Castillo, a towering pyramid with sweeping views over the Mopan River valley and surrounding jungle landscapes, offering both historical depth and striking scenery.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 4 | Transfer to Caye Caulker

Road transfer back to Belize City along scenic and well-maintained routes, followed by a short boat ride to Caye Caulker.
